The Verdict
Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, registering for, or using The Verdict ("the Platform"), operated by The Verdict Team ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform.
2. Eligibility and Minimum Age
You must be at least 18 years of age, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account or participate in a courtroom session. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
3. Account Registration and Account Security
To access certain features, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
4. Description of The Verdict
The Verdict is a digital entertainment and social experience designed for couples to resolve playful relationship disputes in a simulated "live courtroom." It utilizes artificial intelligence to act as a judge, manage speaking turns, moderate the room, and deliver an AI-generated ruling. The experience is hosted primarily via Discord voice channels and our proprietary web interface.
5. AI Judge and AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
The "Judge" is an artificial intelligence model powered by third-party services (such as Google Vertex AI). AI-generated content may be unpredictable, inaccurate, or hallucinatory. You understand and accept that the AI Judge's questions, moderation actions, and final rulings are algorithmically generated and do not represent human judgment or the opinions of The Verdict Team.
6. Entertainment-Only / No Legal Advice Disclaimer
THE VERDICT IS STRICTLY FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES. The Platform is not an actual court of law. The AI Judge is not a real judge, attorney, or legal professional. Nothing provided by the Platform constitutes legal advice, legal mediation, or arbitration. Do not use The Verdict for real legal disputes, civil matters, or criminal accusations.
7. No Guarantee of Correct or Binding Rulings
We make no representations or warranties regarding the fairness, accuracy, or professional validity of any AI ruling. The verdicts rendered by the AI Judge are legally meaningless, non-binding, and generated purely for entertainment. Users are under no legal obligation to abide by the AI's "sentences" or rulings.
8. Relationship/Mental-Health Disclaimer
The Verdict is not a substitute for professional relationship counseling, couple's therapy, psychological services, or crisis support. If you are experiencing serious relationship issues, domestic distress, or emotional trauma, you should seek the assistance of a licensed professional. The Verdict is not designed to handle abuse, violence, or mental health emergencies.
9. Discord Integration and Third-Party Platform Terms
The live courtroom experience may take place on Discord. Your use of Discord is subject to Discord's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You must maintain a valid Discord account in good standing to participate. We are not responsible for Discord's uptime, moderation, or technical functionality.
10. Private Courts
Users may select to host a "Private Court." Private courts are intended to be restricted to the invited participants and the AI systems processing the audio. However, standard platform moderation, logging, and infrastructure rules apply. We do not guarantee absolute cryptographic privacy.
11. Public Courts
Users may select to host a "Public Court." By doing so, you acknowledge and agree that your courtroom session, including your voice, statements, submitted evidence, and the AI's ruling, may be visible, audible, and accessible to the public, including audiences/juries on the Platform, Discord, and potentially external livestreaming or social media platforms.
12. Audience/Jury Participation
In public courts, audiences may watch, listen, and participate in "jury voting." Audience members must conduct themselves respectfully. The Platform reserves the right to moderate, remove, or ban audience members who disrupt the experience.
13. Consent & Responsibility for Inviting Partners
You may only invite another individual (e.g., your partner) to participate if you have their explicit, prior consent. You may not trick, coerce, or force anyone into a courtroom session. You are solely responsible for ensuring the person you invite is of legal age and consents to these Terms.
14. Voice, Audio, Transcripts, and Recordings
By using the Platform, you grant us permission to process your voice, audio inputs, text, and uploaded evidence to facilitate the AI Judge's responses and the courtroom experience. Audio may be processed in real-time, transcribed, and analyzed. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on data retention.
15. User-Generated Content License
You retain ownership of any evidence, text, or audio you submit ("User Content"). However, by submitting User Content, you grant The Verdict Team a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, process, adapt, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting the Platform.
16. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to: (a) violate any laws or regulations; (b) use the Platform for fraudulent purposes; (c) attempt to bypass AI moderation, prompt-inject the AI Judge, or disrupt the platform infrastructure; (d) use unauthorized bots or scripts; (e) record public or private sessions without consent, unless expressly permitted by a specific Platform feature.
17. Harassment, Abuse, and Malicious Behavior
We have a zero-tolerance policy for abuse. You may not use The Verdict to: harass, threaten, or stalk others; expose private/identifying information (doxxing); impersonate others; share sexually explicit content; or engage in non-consensual exploitation. Violations will result in immediate termination and potential reporting to authorities.
18. AI and Automated Moderation
The Platform employs automated AI moderation systems to detect prohibited conduct, hate speech, and severe abuse. You acknowledge that AI moderation is not perfect and may occasionally flag benign content or miss malicious content. We reserve the right to manually review flagged sessions.
19. Courtroom Moderation Powers
During a live session, the AI Judge or our automated systems have the power to mute users, stop interruptions, pause the session, or eject participants who violate courtroom decorum or these Terms. Our human administrators also retain full authority to terminate any session at any time.
20. Payments, Pricing, Refunds, and Chargebacks
Certain features or court sessions may require a fee. Prices are subject to change. Payments are processed via third-party providers (e.g., Stripe, Razorpay). All sales are final. Unless required by local law, we do not offer refunds for completed court sessions. Fraudulent chargebacks will result in permanent account suspension.
21. Third-Party Services
The Platform relies on third-party infrastructure (Google Cloud, Cloudflare, Firebase, Fish Audio, etc.). We are not liable for outages, data breaches, or performance degradation caused by these third-party providers. Your use of the Platform may also be subject to the acceptable use policies of these providers.
22. Intellectual Property
"The Verdict", our logos, website design, UI, and custom AI prompts are the intellectual property of The Verdict Team. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer our software, design, or brand assets without explicit written permission.
23. Copyright / DMCA Process
If you believe your copyrighted work is being infringed upon within our Platform, please submit a written notice to founder@ranexis.com containing: your contact information, identification of the infringed work, a link/description of the infringing material, and a statement of good faith belief. We will respond in accordance with applicable law (e.g., the US DMCA).
24. Service Availability and Technical Failures
We strive for high uptime, but The Verdict is provided "AS IS." The platform may experience downtime, AI latency, voice synthesis glitches, or connection drops. We are not liable for interrupted sessions or lost data resulting from technical failures.
25. Account Suspension and Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, ban your IP/Discord ID, and refuse service to anyone at our sole discretion, at any time, with or without notice, particularly for violations of these Terms.
26. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Verdict Team, its officers, directors, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
27. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE AI WILL FUNCTION FLAWLESSLY OR THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE SECURE OR ERROR-FREE.
28. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, The Verdict Team SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS/REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
29. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
[REQUIRES JURISDICTION-SPECIFIC LEGAL REVIEW] These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which The Verdict Team is established, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration, rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if applicable.
30. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
